Services Provided to the Students:
* Highly academically geared, this program uses various intervention programs to "close the gap" between the students current level in reading and/or Math and grade level material.
* Opportunity for guided peer interaction and social skills groups to reinforce appropriate interaction, manners, respect and play.
* Individualized instruction that focuses on each student's preferred modality of learning and academic needs.
* Teaching of independence and self-management skills, organizational skills and self-regulation given various sensory tools.
* A connection is maintained between the general classroom and the resource room to allow for fluidity and student inclusion. This involves following general classroom topics, events, themes and routines. Communication between general classroom teacher and special education teacher is maintained.
* A home-school connection is maintained through communication logs, emails, meetings and phone calls with the guardian(s).

Program Goals:
* To give each student the tools, strategies, knowledge, background, self-management skills, self-regulation ability and academic instruction he/she needs to be included in the general education setting as much as possible.
* To develop individualized academic and behavior management plans that can be used to motivate and track student success across all settings.
* To gradually release adult support in order to encourage independence and appropriate decision making.
* To decrease impeding behavior enough to transition students to a regular resource room to continue to receive academic support needed.
